After studying economics at the University of Utah and receiving his bachelor of arts degree from Utah Valley University, Jason Bergstrom worked extensively in finance. He did collections and small claims for a bank, and also worked at Discover Financial Services before coming to Veterans First Mortgage®.

Jason's grandfather stormed Iwo Jima in World War II as an amphibious sergeant with the Marines' Fifth Unit. Jason has seen his grandfather's journal, which talks about seeing the flag raised on Mt. Suribachi while he stormed up the hill.

With this poignant military family history and his banking background, Bergstrom feels the inherent need to help people and do good in the world. He also achieved Eagle Scout status, which no doubt lends itself to his work ethic. "I'm a real self-starter," he says. "I don't leave until the job is done." Jason finds working with Veterans rewarding, and not a bad reason to have to wake up on Monday morning.

Jason lives to ski Utah's beautiful slopes in the winters, and looks forward to the white season all year. He also mountain bikes during the summers. "So I guess I'm a mountain man," he says.
