Before coming to the team at Veterans First Mortgage, Brakken Barben worked at Goldman Sachs. His work ethic comes from his upbringing, when he was taught to always have a positive attitude, and that doing so will make work easier and more enjoyable. “I have always believed in the value of hard work, but I also believe that there is always an easier more efficient way to do something. If there is, I will find a way to do it,” he says.
Brakken’s grandfather served in the United States Marine Corps, so he is particularly grateful for all of our armed service members. Brakken also lived in Mexico for a few years, which made him realize how lucky he is to live and work in the United States, and to be able to enjoy all of the freedoms we have. He has pledged to do anything he can do to help make the lives of our Veterans easier.
When Brakken’s not at work, he’s spending time with his wife and two sons. He loves to play and watch sports, and spends time outdoors fishing, shooting, and camping. Brakken plays basketball three to five times a week. The team environment constantly reminds him that, if you do things together to achieve a goal, great things can happen.
