Benji Bockting studied Animal Science at the University of Missouri, then after graduating with his bachelor’s degree, went on to work in events at the institution’s Bond Life Sciences Center. He transitioned to lending in 2020 and joined the team at Veterans First Mortgage in early 2026.

The level of appreciation that Benji has for working specifically with service members can be attributed to his family legacy of service in the United States Army. Benji’s cousin served in Bosnia and their grandfather is a World War II Veteran. “I love giving support to the people who have earned it,” Benji says.

Consistency and support of his clients are top priorities for Benji. He makes every effort to provide the most top-notch support for what he acknowledges is probably the biggest purchase of someone’s lifetime.

When we first met Benji, he was about to be married and was living with his fiancée and their three cats, Dapper, Chiffon, and Bunny. He enjoys cycling, and you can often find him racing at the local velodrome.
