Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Alex De La Cruz moved to San Diego, California, in 2020. After graduating from Central Michigan University in 2017 with a degree in business management she went straight to work in the mortgage lending industry, with an early specialty in Veteran loans. With nearly a decade of experience already to her credit, along with multiple accolades as top closer, top funder, and top volume producer, Alex joined the team at Veterans First Mortgage in the fall of 2025.

Alex enjoys her work, especially being able to help people who’ve helped others. She considers herself a problem solver, and likes to think of creative ways to be able to deliver for her clients. Alex always goes above and beyond to make sure she finds the right financing for her client’s individual needs.

Outside the office, Alex values cooking and spending time with friends and family. Alex also spends free time traveling. On recent trips she visited Mexico City and also Madrid. Alex has two border collies and enjoys walking with them on her local beach or a nearby hiking trail.
