Katie Walker started working in the loan industry in Colorado in 2020 after she graduated from Colorado Mesa University. She honed her skills with AmCap and CrossCountry, then moved to Virginia Beach in 2024 and made the transition to Veterans First Mortgage.

One of Katie’s brothers is stationed at the Naval base in Norfolk, Virginia, and her other brother was a Marine Corps Scout Sniper. With this personal connection to the military, Katie is ready and able to provide white glove service to servicemembers – who deserve it most. Katie affirms that positively impacting an active-duty military member or Veteran’s life gives her a fulfilling purpose that is greater than herself.

Katie is meticulous and driven and believes in tailoring to the unique needs of every individual client. Her attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to make the homebuying process as simple as possible make her stand out as a loan officer. She is a natural problem solver, which gives her the ability to tackle potential problems before they arise, thereby providing an enjoyable experience for all parties involved in a transaction.

With a background in fitness and kinesiology, Katie enjoys a healthy lifestyle of weight training and cooking healthy food for her loved ones. She spends her free time exploring the outdoors with her dog Siggy, a chocolate Labrador. She’s also a big fan of live sporting events and concerts of all kinds, particularly hockey and country music. Her love for country music has made doing the country two-step one of her favorite activities, and it’s something she grew up doing in the small town in Colorado where she was raised.
