Before she joined Veterans First Mortgage®, Alisha Pena worked in high tech, selling semi-conductor electronic components, for about 12 years. When that market began to downsize, Alisha transitioned to the insurance industry, working as a licensed auto/home and life/health insurance agent for more than six years. On her move to the lending industry, Alisha recounts how she’s never forgotten the feeling—or the loan officer who helped her—when she was able to purchase her first home on her own, especially when she never imagined it could be possible. To be on the other end, to hear the joy in that Veteran’s voice when they learn their home ownership dreams are becoming a reality too, is priceless.

Alisha’s grandfather served in World War II as a gunner for the United States Army. She also has several friends, both men and women, serving in various branches of our armed forces. “Military members and their families dedicate so much of their lives with the purpose of serving our country, and being able to dedicate my time and personal service by allowing Veterans to live the American dream of owning a home couldn’t be more gratifying,” she says.

Staying active is important to Alisha, as is spending time with friends and family. She likes to camp, fish, and travel to new places. In 2015, Alisha went on a cruise to Jamaica and got to explore and swim in the breathtaking hidden caves and waterfalls known as “The Blue Hole,” a place she will never forget.
